: hemolytic uremic syndrome that primarily affects adult females, is typically distinguished by only mild renal dysfunction but significant neurological deficits, and is marked by the presence of large aggregates of von Willebrand factor and a deficiency or absence of a protease that cleaves von Willebrand factor—called also TTP
